Hi - How do I make the News area visible?

Went to Admin > Main > News and Newsletters > News and created 3 separate news items. Clicked save and it's not visible.

Also I'd like the board redirect to open in a new window - how do I make that change?

Admin > Forum Configuration > Current theme > Show news fader on board index:.
You need to enable the option there.

This is not a default feature from SMF, would require a mod or custom coding and it's unrelated to the theme.
