It does not have a dark mode or similar atm.
I think it should work just fine with simple portal, perhaps a minor fix would be needed if anything (on sp side).
If the mod works well I don't see why it wouldn't add the items, the theme just adds the icons to the menu, that's the only thing that would require a manual fix for each item (by editing the FA CSS).

Please use the Materialistic support board for specific doubts.
The theme doesn't have a width setting by default because of the side menu, it could look bad with small width.
