That you should NOT use two urls, you'll have issues with the forum itself, not just the theme.
I'd suggest adding a redirect rule to your htaccess file.

It will work with all mods that use integration hooks.

Mods that edit files will most likely work without issues.
The issues you might encounter with these mods have the same likelihood of happening in any custom theme. In this scenario you should probably ask support to the mod developer, but I can also provide assistance  making the edits for you.

Wouldn't know about it. Looks like you're using a MOD, so perhaps it adds the custom size from there, you should ask in the support topic for that MOD.

Check in SMF, search for "adding buttons to the menu". Or install a MOD, there's at least one that lets you modify the menu.

📦 Installation
It is installed as a traditional SMF Theme for SMF 2.1.x, just grab the latest release of the package and go to: Admin > Configuration > Themes and Layout > Install a New Theme > From an Archive > Select File > Upload.

Instead of display: none; use font-size. 

1: Create a new file in NameX/css/custom/custom_edits.css. Then add the following:

2: You can change this through the default settings of the forum. Go to Admin > Forum > Attachments and Avatars > Avatar Settings. In there you'll notice four settings related to width and height. Adjust the values to something smaller.

Yo can add your own CSS to overwrite styles.
